"In June of 1999 the biggest news to ever hit the industry was Hyperlite's signing of Scott Byerly. Hyperlite had not been known for its freeride attitude, but the signing of Scott changed that overnight as Hyperlite brought the most respected Wakeboarder in the world into the family.

It didn't take long before Scott and his shaping partner Scott "Butch" Bouchard got down to business developing the very first Byerly shapes for Hyperlite Wakeboards. Combining the ingenuity of both Scott's and capabilities of the Hyperlite's R & D center was the beginning of an evolution still thriving today.

Both Scott & Butch felt enough effort and energy had been poured into the Byerly line within Hyperlite. The efforts had paid off, Byerly was considered its own line and in 2006 it became official as Byerly set off as its own Brand, Byerly Boards.

Founded in 2006, Byerly Boards has been my dream for as long as I've been riding boards, which dates back to the founding years of both Wakeboarding and Wakeskating. Today I'm happy to say that my dream has taken root, and with my crew we're creating a brand that is unique within the board sports world. With Butch's shaping skills and knowledge of construction methods we've again pushed the boundaries of Wakeboard Design.
